The Mystery of Sleepy Hollow written by Elliot Kinnear
We are so excited to announce our next production, an original play written by a long standing member of ours!
Based on the famous story by Washington Irving, this original play from the Woolgatherers of Heswall follows Henry Fisher, a visitor to the village of Sleepy Hollow on New Year's Eve, 1799. With a cast of characters including those from the original short story, ghostly tales meet a period-piece mystery of discovery, treachery and fantasy - the ideal evening out for Hallowe'en!
Ten years after the disappearance of schoolmaster Ichabod Crane, Fisher finds himself embroiled in the mystery of the infamous spectre said to have slain him; the Headless Horseman. As night falls, strange occurrences of a supernatural nature place the villagers in mortal peril - will they uncover the buried secrets necessary to survive the night, or will they become the victims of the Horseman's deadly hunt?
That's all very well, but where is this fabulous show taking place?
